Happy New Years Eve!
It is now officially the last day of 2016!
It has been a crazy year this year.
I have done so much.
Christmas was last week.
I had the absolute best time!
I loved experiencing it so differently especially because here they celebrate it on the 24th at night.
On the 24th my host family and I stayed at home and went to church at night which was super sweet. We then came home and had an amazing dinner and then afterwards we opened presents.
I loved everything i got i was so spoiled.
The day after we went to my host mother's sister's house and met all of her family and had lunch. It was so sweet to be able to meet everybody. I played with all the little kids which was so cute and cool because they were just the sweetest things and they were hilarious. Plus i kind of had to talk to them in German because they have never learned english so this was cool.
The day after we went to my Host Father's family's house and there were a lot of people there. We had a great lunch and talked a lot. We also went for a walk as a family with all the kids and it was a lot of fun. They were all so nice. '
It was so cool and amazing to be able to be a part of the family and to meet everyone. I really loved every moment and it was so sad to say goodbye to them.
A few days after a girl named Riley who is also on exchange from Australia came to stay and she will leave tomorrow.
As i said, today is New Year's Eve!
My host family and a few friends are going to have a party at our house which is super exciting.
They have a few traditions that they do which i am looking forward too so much. Especially the fact that they are allowed to do their own fireworks which is not allowed in Australia. I am so excited for this.
Now that it is New Years that means i have less than 20 days until i leave Germany and i can not tell you how sad that makes me.
I am going to miss everything so much.
but i am excited to go home and see everyone again and start using everything i learned in germany in my normal life in australia.
I am not going to make this a sad and depressing blog post because that can wait for one of my last ones.
Okay.
Well i guess I will see you all in 2017!
I hope it is as good as this year was for you all.
Love from Bella xoxo

It's December! Which means it is nearly Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!
5/12/2016
I only have 1 and a half months left :(
I am going to miss this place so much!
But! I have gotten up to some really cool stuff like going to all the christmas markets in my city and my village which was so cool! the christmas markets are so christmassy and cute and i love the food there! Especially Schmalzkuchen.
Today was class day and a few classes at my school went to the cinema and watched a good movie and walked around the christmas markets which was a lot of fun!
I have about 2 and a half weeks until the christmas holidays which is very exciting because then it is closer to christmas and new years and i am so excited for that!
It will be so cool to experience a whole entire different christmas!
It is getting so cold here! But i love the change from the really bad heat in Australia. I hope it snows here!!!!!!
On the weekend i also went to hang out with my friends at their house and i played a lot of cool board games with them and listened to music which was so fun to do! I love them so much :)
I also showed them on google maps where i live and my school and my city which was pretty cool.
It is so weird to think that my home is so far away and is so different to where i am now. Germany kind of feels like my normal home now because i am so used to it and it just feels comfortable.
Showing where i live just made me realise how different my life is and how i often forget it sometimes when i am here.
Crazy stuff :)
This weekend a girl who is also from australia and on exchange will come and stay with me and my host family. I am so excited to show her where i live and talk to her about how things are going. We will also go to the christmas markets in my city so this will be so much fun.
Through this exchange not only have i made so many friends from germany but also with other people who have gone on exchange with the same organisation as me from Australia and i feel so lucky!
Anyway, I am excited for this next month and a half

I am surviving!! 3rd week in Deutschland.
22/11/16
It has now been about a month since i have been here.
That. Is. Crazy.
Time really does fly when you're having fun.
It is so sad to think that i have only 2 months left.
On the weekend my host father took me to my first professional soccer game which was so cool to see! The atmosphere was great and the game was very cool to watch. Unfortunately we did not win but that is okay.
Today was quite a good day.
I laughed a lot with my friends today which was good,
I don't think our KLT teacher thought so but it was funny.
I also went and hung out at the school cafeteria after school with a few people which was a lot of fun.
They were selling waffles and tea and coffee for the parent teacher interviews so i helped a bit and talked a lot with them. it was very fun.
I also joined a new year 9 english class who just asked me lots of questions about australia and myself which was good.
I have begun to make some really good friends. Not just my main ones but others too. Everyone is so nice and friendly and i am always having a good time.
I actually am so torn between Germany and Australia.
I guess they are so different you can not compare them.
I have started to realise how crazy it will be when i come back to Australia.
Some things will be different compared to when i left, i will start my OP and will have to actually start doing things for my future.
I don't want to think about this right now.
I am in Germany so lets not think about it just yet.
Today was one of my best friends birthday and i was very sad that i could not spend it with her.
My sister will also have a birthday when i am here.
OH MY GOSH
i might sound weird and crazy but today i saw and touched a real christmas tree! Like a real one.
In Australia we have plastic ones and not real ones so this was so cool.
Everyone was like looking at me weirdly like i must have come from another planet but it was pretty cool.
I am very excited for my first cold christmas and if i am lucky enough it might snow which would be amazing. It is going to be so cool to go to the christmas markets and just feel what it is like to actually experience this rather than sitting at home in air conditoner in some shorts and watching a christmas movie where it is cold and looks like a typical christmas.
This weekend we will go to my host sisters town where she studies and apparently is is very cute so i am very excited.
Anyway, I am very excited for these next 2 months.

2nd Week!!!!
13/11/2016
Moin!
I have officially been in Germany for over two weeks!!
I can not believe it still!
My mum came at the beginning of this week which was so cool.
We went into Bremen a lot and ate a lot of good food :)
It was so good to see her.
School has been pretty easy.
I do not do much so like haha
I am just trying to understand what people are saying but it is so hard.
I feel like an alien most of the time
But i am not complaining.
I know other exchange students who are having a hard time with friends and homesickness and I do not have these problems so i am lucky.
Everyone is very nice and pretty funny so yeah.
I really do like it here.
It is so hard to explain.
I really do not want to leave already.
3 months is definitely not enough time.
It is already going so fast
I am just not looking forward to the flight back to be honest.
It is SOOOOO long and exhausting.
But lets not think about that because that's not happening yet.
I think i would really like to try and do some things with the people i have become friends with at school soon.
I just do not want to seem like i am annoying or whatever.
we shall see.
I really love my village.
It is so cute.
and plus it has snowed!!!!
it was so beautiful!
i love it
i made a snowman with an old exchange student who came to Australia.
It was so fun.
in these next few weeks i will go to where my host sister studies with my host family which will be so much fun and i have heard it is very beautiful there.
I am so excited for christmas!
it is going to be so different i am excited.
The christmas markets should start soon too so that will be cool to see.
Hopefully it snows a lot before i leave i would love that.
I am excited to see what happens over these next few months!

My first week in Deutschland!!!!
6.11.16
Hey there
it’s Isabella here!
I
AM
IN
GERMANY!!!!
The plane flight was exhausting but i spent it with some pretty good people.
When I arrived my host family was waiting for me with a big sign and it was so cute.
I can not
believe that i am here.
It is such a
beautiful place here.
The
buildings are so pretty and everything is just so cute.
The food is
amazing too J
My host
family is honestly so sweet. They are such amazing people. I feel apart of the family already!
I had my
first week of school last week.
It was
pretty good.
I barely
understand a thing so that’s um interesting.
But I am
getting there.
Most people
can explain things to me in English so that helps.
Plus I do not have do much so it is fine.
I take:
German, English, Math, Art, Politics, Biology, Physics, Sport, another Art course, Cooking and I also help out in some
other grades English classes which is so cool especially because some of them
are learning about Australia.
I have made
some friends which is cool. They are so nice ad funny.
It feels so
weird talking about Australia to people because I have lived there my whole
life so telling people who have never been there before feels so weird.
On the first
few days here I went with my family to the city near us called Bremen and its
so cool there I love it.
We also went
to this cool carnival type thing called Freimark (I think J) and there were cool rides and a lot
of good food.
I went to
this super awesome place called Klimahaus yesterday with my host father and it
is like a museum type thing were you walk through it and it takes you all over the world and tells you about all these different climates and peoples stories.
It was amazing to see how it is like for others to live and how where they live
effects their lifestyle.
My mum is
coming to my host families house in a few days for her birthday and we are
going to celebrate with some other people. She has been travelling around
Europe for this past week. She has had so much fun and she honestly deserves
it. I am so excited to see her but so sad to say good bye because I love her so
much.
Speaking of
the family back home, THEY GOT A NEW DOG!!!! And he is so cute. He is a maltese x shitzu
I believe? Anyway he is adorable and I am looking forward to meeting him when I
come back to aus.
“we remember the moments not the days.”
I already
know I am going to have the best time here.

24/10/16
Hey it's Isabella here.
I LEAVE THIS WEEK!!!!
Less than 4 days and i will be in Germany.
I had my going away dinner with my friends last weekend and i had such a good time i love them all so much.
Right now I am getting my hair done by Hair and Soul Organics. Absolutely love it. I brought up the colour a bit more and also got it cut a lot shorter because it was dead. haha
Tomorrow i am getting my eyebrows done which will be good.
I am packed and now i am just trying to make my bags lighter which is so hard for me. :)
I finished school last week which was sad but mostly exciting. I can not believe how many people i have become close with. It is crazy.
My friend Riley comes on Wednesday and she is going on exchange to Germany as well.
I can not believe it is finally here.
It feels like I have been waiting for a very long time and it is finally here.
My host family is honestly so nice. I love them already haha.
I can honestly not thank my Mum enough for this. I love her so much.
And my host family for agreeing to put up with me for a solid 3 months :) Good Luck to them.
I have a feeling I am going to have the time of my life.

1 month!
2/09/16
Hey Isabella here,
It's September!
I can't believe it!
Remember that guy from my last post that i was talking about who is also going on exchange to Germany? He left last night!!! AHHHH
That just makes my departure seem so much more closer.
It is unbelievable.
My host sister was here last month and it was soooo great to see her.
I love her so much and really look up to her.
I am a little nervous about the language as I am not that confident but hopefully I pick some things up.
School is going pretty good. It is my last full term this term which is crazy because then I am a senior and that means a lot of S T U DY. So, Germany is like a mini sort of holiday between this year and next year. Not that it is going to be easy because it most certainly will not due to the fact i will be going to school and speaking another language. But it is the only milestone before my senior years and that is insane to think about.
I have already started packing and making heaps of lists for me to get things and my parents have been absolutely amazing. I cannot thank them enough. They are putting so much money into this experience for me. I love them so much and i can't be grateful enough.
I feel so lucky to be able to do this and embark on this journey. I honestly do not know what i did to deserve this.
I have a feeling this year will be unforgettable!!!

Update.
5/7/16
Hey Isabella Here,
Well, I thought I should do an update.
So it is holidays right now, the second and last week at that.
It is pretty sad because when i started my new school (which is great actually) I met this crazy amazing girl who is an exchange student from Germany and we have become super close. It is sad because she is leaving this weekend and she is Cairns at the moment on a trip and i might only get to see her at the airport when we say goodbye the next time we see each other. But it will be great to see her in Germany the only thing is that she will be in the opposite end. :l
I have seen so many movies these holidays and have just been chilling with friends and family which is great. I will catch up with a friend from my old school who i haven't seen in ages which I am so excited for.
I am so excited for Germany!!!!!
I got new suitcases a few weeks ago so i have kind of started packing a bit because i am so keen.
My host sister will come to visit next month which will be so great.
I am getting an exchange student this weekend and she is so sweet and from Denmark. I am so excited!!!!
I am talking with a boy who will also be in Germany when I am and he will be staying not too far away from me. So hopefully we can catch up in Germany as he doesn't live close to me haha.
How crazy is that to say though!
I am still not used to that but yeah ahaha.
After this next term i will have about 2 weeks at school until I will go to Germany and then I won't go back to my school until next year!
I am sure this year will be unforgettable :)

Hey Isabella Here,
At the end of this year i am going on exchange to Germany.
I thought, because i am way too lazy to write on paper, i would start a blog.
I am pretty excited to be going on exchange and i am also very nervous.
I am average at german but i am having a direct placement with an exchange student that has stayed with my family. Her family has also come to Australia and I have met them and they invited me to
stay with them. Hopefully that makes my exchange year easier.

What is also crazy about this year is that I am changing schools so it should be eventful. I shall keep this blog posted about starting school and as it gets closer to my exchange.
